Jollibee implements across-the-board reorganization

JOLLIBEE Foods Corp. said it is reorganizing its business with key appointments and the separation of the Philippine and United States operations of recently acquired Red Ribbon Bakeshop.

In a disclosure, Jollibee Foods said it is appointing a general manager each for Red Ribbon Bakeshop Philippines and Red Ribbon Bakeshop USA. The company also hired new top-level executives and assigned key personnel to newly created positions.

Tony Tan Caktiong, Jollibee Foods chairman and chief executive officer,  said these changes are part of a broader organizational transformation that is required by its long-term goals. More changes are expected to follow in the next few months.

“We have ambitious long-term goals. We need to make big changes within our organization to make them possible,” Tan Caktiong said in the statement.

Among the changes include the appointment of General Manager Regina B. Navarrete of Greenwich Pizza Corp. as president and general manager of Red Ribbon Bakeshop Philippines, a newly created position effective July 1, 2006.

Daniel Moran, chief executive officer of Red Ribbon, will continue to serve as president and general manager of Red Ribbon Bakeshop USA, while retaining his position as chief executive officer of the entire Red Ribbon business.

He will focus his effort on expanding the Red Ribbon business in the United States including the start-up of the new commissary in Los Angeles and the entry into the East Coast within the year.

Erwin M. Elechicon, formerly of Procter & Gamble, has joined the Jollibee Group in January, 2006 as president and general manager of Greenwich Pizza Corp.
