President Arroyo is inviting Saudi Arabia to build an oil refinery in Mindanao.

The President and her party visited Saudi Aramco’s facilities, yesterday according to Clark Development Corp. (CDC) president Antonio Ng.

Ng is part of President Arroyo’s official entourage.

In a text message, Ng reported that aside from inviting Saudi Aramco to put up an oil refinery in Mindanao, President Arroyo has also been encouraging King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia to invest in Clark and Subic.

The Subic-Clark Alliance Development (SCAD) Corp. presented its portfolio.

King Abdullah, Ng said, has given instructions to his staff to visit the Philippines and explore tourism opportunities.

Ng also reported that President Arroyo was warmly welcomed by Filipino overseas workers during her visits to Riyadh, Jeddah and Damam.

President Arroyo’s visit to Saudi Arabia, Ng said, is expected to strengthen the country’s relationship with Saudi Arabia.

It is also expected to have a positive impact on the estimated one million OFWs working in the Middle East.

Additional employment opportunities for possibly 500,000 more OFWs are expected with the development of a new $1-trillion financial center to be known as the Abdullah Economic City.
